Manolo Blahnik, Black Silk Slingback Pumps, Decorated with Rhinestone Crystals, Scalloped on Kitten Heels
Manolo Blahnik Rhinestone Heels
Manolo Blahnik Rhinestone Heels are captured in this striking shoe portrait from the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection. The elegant black silk slingback pump is decorated with rows of sparkling rhinestone crystals and distinctive scalloped detailing.
Painted by A. J. Green, the artwork captures the contrast between the understated black silk and the brilliance of the individual crystals. The relatively restrained heel height gives the shoe an elegant profile while allowing the decorative rhinestones and scalloped edging to become the principal visual features.
The print itself identifies the design simply as “Manolo Blahnik • Rhinestone Heels”, creating a direct connection between the artwork, the designer and the historic shoe collection from which it originated.

About Manolo Blahnik
Manolo Blahnik has become one of the world’s most recognisable luxury footwear designers. After settling in London in 1969, he created his first runway shoe for Ossie Clark in 1971 and soon afterwards opened his first boutique on Old Church Street in Chelsea.
Today, Manolo Blahnik remains a privately owned, family-run company headquartered in London. Blahnik continues as Creative Director and Chairman, still sketching his shoes and maintaining a close involvement with the Italian artisans responsible for their manufacture.
His work is particularly celebrated for proportion, elegant heel construction, luxurious materials and imaginative embellishment—all characteristics represented by these black silk and rhinestone slingback pumps.
Did You Know?
Manolo Blahnik learned much of his craft not through a conventional footwear-design course, but by visiting Italian shoe factories and questioning experienced artisans about how shoes were constructed.
Heel design is especially important to his work. The official Manolo Blahnik Archives document heel heights ranging from just 10mm to 115mm, with proportions adjusted according to shoe size.
The Manolo Blahnik Rhinestone Heels demonstrate the designer’s celebrated ability to transform an evening shoe into something resembling a piece of jewellery.
That attention to proportion helps explain why even a relatively low kitten heel, such as the one portrayed in this artwork, remains an important part of the overall silhouette.
Why Collect This Manolo Blahnik Rhinestone Heels Print?
This print presents a very different side of Manolo Blahnik from the richly coloured tapestry embroidered heel elsewhere in the Sole Support collection.
Here the drama comes from black silk, scalloped contours and sparkling rhinestone crystals. Against the dark fabric, the stones become points of light, giving the shoe an almost jewellery-like quality.
The artwork also has an unusual historical dimension: it records an actual designer shoe associated with the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection, transforming an object of luxury fashion into a permanent painted portrait.
This Manolo Blahnik Rhinestone Heels print combines fashion history, designer footwear and the extraordinary story of the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection in one distinctive artwork.
For collectors of fashion art, designer footwear and unusual cultural memorabilia, it is both an attractive decorative work and a conversation piece.
