Manolo Blahnik Tapestry Embroidered Heels, Red Satin with Gold Floral Piping.
Manolo Blahnik Tapestry Embroidered Heels
An extraordinary Manolo Blahnik shoe print depicting an ornate pair of tapestry-inspired heels from the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection. Rich red satin is combined with intricate embroidery and gold floral piping, transforming the shoe into an object that sits somewhere between fashion, decorative art and historical artefact.
Painted by A. J. Green, the artwork captures the elaborate fabrics, colour and craftsmanship associated with Manolo Blahnik footwear. The dramatic red and gold detailing of this Manolo Blahnik shoe print makes this one of the more decorative designer shoes represented in the Sole Support collection.
The resulting museum-quality art print offers collectors an unusual opportunity to display a portrait of a shoe associated with one of the world’s most famous fashion collections.

About Manolo Blahnik
Manolo Blahnik is one of the defining names in luxury footwear. After settling in London in 1969, he created his first runway shoe for British designer Ossie Clark in 1971 and subsequently established his famous Chelsea boutique.
His designs are particularly associated with elegant proportions, sophisticated materials, ornamentation and meticulous craftsmanship. The company remains privately owned and family run, with Blahnik continuing as Creative Director and Chairman. His shoes are produced in Italy, where he has maintained a close relationship with specialist artisans and factories.
The embroidered textiles, red satin and decorative gold detailing represented in this Manolo Blahnik shoe print reflect Blahnik’s broader fascination with art, historical dress, colour and richly worked materials.
Did You Know?
Manolo Blahnik originally studied art and set design in Paris rather than following a conventional footwear-design education. He subsequently learned shoemaking directly from skilled Italian manufacturers and craftspeople.
Historical references have remained important to his work. The official Manolo Blahnik archive, for example, documents how a 1977–78 collection drew inspiration from late medieval and early Renaissance dynasties and translated those influences into decorative footwear.
This helps explain why many Manolo Blahnik shoes can appear almost like miniature decorative artworks rather than purely functional objects.
Why Collect This Manolo Blahnik Print?
This Manolo Blahnik shoe print brings together several compelling stories: internationally recognised fashion design, the extraordinary Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection and an original painted interpretation by A. J. Green.
The combination of red satin, tapestry-style embroidery and gold floral piping gives the artwork a particularly rich decorative character. It will appeal not only to admirers of Manolo Blahnik but also to collectors interested in fashion illustration, designer shoes, fashion history and unusual Pop-Political art.
Most importantly for Sole Support, purchasing the print also connects a symbol of extraordinary luxury with a contemporary humanitarian purpose.
