Dolce & Gabbana, Black Eel Skin Slip-On, Silver Metallic Lining on High Stiletto Heel.
Dolce & Gabbana Eel Skin Pump
This striking Dolce & Gabbana Eel Skin Pump from the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection combines an exceptionally clean silhouette with the unusual natural texture of black eel skin.
Designed as an elegant slip-on pump, the shoe features a dramatic high stiletto heel and a luminous silver metallic lining that contrasts with the deep black exterior. The restrained shape allows the texture and sheen of the material to become the defining feature of the design.
A. J. Green’s oil portrait transforms the shoe from a fashion accessory into an individual object worthy of contemplation. Light catches the textured surface and metallic interior, while the elongated heel gives the composition an elegant sculptural quality.
The original painting is reproduced as a museum-quality designer shoe art print for Sole Support.

About Dolce & Gabbana . . .
Dolce & Gabbana was founded in 1985 by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The founders have remained the creative and stylistic force behind the house, which produces luxury clothing, leather goods, footwear, jewellery, watches and other products.
Italian culture and craftsmanship have been central to the brand’s identity. Sicily in particular has provided a continuing source of inspiration: Domenico Dolce was born there, and the house’s Fall/Winter 1987–88 collection was called La Sicilia. The island’s colours, traditions, decorative arts and Mediterranean character subsequently became recurring elements of the Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic.
Against this frequently elaborate aesthetic, the black eel-skin pump represented in A. J. Green’s portrait is remarkably restrained. Its drama comes instead from material, proportion and the contrast between its dark exterior and reflective silver lining.
Did You Know?
Black has an especially important place within the visual language of Dolce & Gabbana.
The house itself identifies timeless silhouettes, craftsmanship and Sicily among the pillars of its design DNA, with black clothing and traditional Sicilian imagery recurring throughout its collections.
The company’s fascination with Sicily goes considerably further than fashion. Traditional Sicilian ceramics, painted carts and folk craftsmanship have inspired collections and collaborations, with the house describing the island as a reference point from its earliest years.
This makes the predominantly black shoe in the Imelda Marcos collection an interesting example of the more understated side of the Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic.
Why Collect This Dolce & Gabbana Eel Skin Pump Print?
The Dolce & Gabbana Eel Skin Pump print has a distinctly different character from many of the highly embellished shoes in the Imelda Marcos Shoe Collection.
Its impact comes from simplicity: an elegant black silhouette, unusual textured surface, brilliant silver metallic lining and sharply defined high stiletto heel.
A. J. Green’s portrait isolates these qualities and turns the shoe into a study of form, texture, light and luxury.
There is also a compelling contrast at the heart of the Sole Support collection. A shoe associated with one of the world’s most famous symbols of extraordinary personal consumption is transformed into art and used for a humanitarian purpose — helping raise funds for vulnerable children.
