Charles Jourdan, Serenade Pump, Black Satin, Gold Metalic lining, Rhinestone Embellished Jewels on 3″ Heel.
Charles Jourdan Serenade Pump
A striking portrait of a Charles Jourdan Serenade Pump from the Imelda Marcos shoe collection, combining black satin, a gold metallic lining and glittering rhinestone embellishments.
The elegant three-inch heel and sweeping silhouette are decorated with individually placed jewel-like stones that catch the light against the deep black satin. The contrast between the dark exterior and luminous gold interior gives the shoe an unmistakably theatrical quality.
Painted as an object of fashion history rather than simply footwear, the shoe becomes a portrait in its own right — luxurious, dramatic and inseparably connected with one of the world’s most famous shoe collections.
This museum-quality art print reproduces the detail, texture and atmospheric character of the original oil painting.
Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and confirmation of your total charitable donation.

About Charles Jourdan . . .
One of the great names of twentieth-century French footwear is Charles Jourdan. Founded in Romans-sur-Isère, France, in 1921, the company developed an international reputation for elegant women’s shoes distinguished by adventurous shapes, luxurious materials and unmistakably French glamour.
By the post-war decades, Charles Jourdan shoes were being sold internationally and the company became particularly celebrated for combining traditional shoemaking with increasingly daring fashion design.
Its shoes captured an era when footwear was becoming more than an accessory: the shoe itself could be the centrepiece of an outfit.
The Serenade Pump portrayed here, with its black satin, metallic gold lining and rhinestone embellishment, perfectly expresses that combination of elegance and spectacle.
Did You Know?
Charles Jourdan was founded by a trained shoemaker who established his business in Romans-sur-Isère, a French town historically associated with luxury shoemaking.
The company later became famous not only for its shoes but also for remarkably imaginative fashion advertising. During the 1960s and 1970s, provocative campaigns photographed by Guy Bourdin helped transform the presentation of luxury footwear.
Instead of treating shoes simply as products, these images made them objects of fantasy, desire and visual storytelling.
That history makes a Charles Jourdan shoe particularly appropriate for the Imelda Marcos shoe portrait collection: both the original footwear and the painting demonstrate how a shoe can become an object with a cultural story far beyond its practical purpose.
Why Collect This Print of Charles Jourdan Serenade Pump?
This print brings together fashion history, art and social purpose.
The rhinestone-covered black satin pump is among the more visually dramatic shoes represented in the Imelda Marcos collection. Against the restrained, shadowed background of the painting, its tiny coloured jewels become points of light while the gold metallic lining provides a striking contrast.
It is also an unusual surviving example of the extravagant designer footwear associated with Imelda Marcos and the extraordinary collection that became famous around the world.
Displayed as art, the shoe becomes something quite different: a beautiful object carrying a complicated history of fashion, wealth, politics and power.
And through Sole Support, its story can now help create something positive for children living in extreme poverty.
